Interview – Legalsense: Data-driven steering at NewGround Law

In the modern world, information is priceless. But without the right tools to analyze and visualize that information, it can lose its value. This is a story about how IT Factor transformed law firm NewGround Law with a custom made Power BI dashboard.

Background

NewGround Law, a leading law firm – “breaking new ground in real estate law” – faced a challenge. Despite having access to a wealth of data from their practice management system Legalsense and financial system Twinfield, they lacked the tools to analyze this data. As a result, they were potentially missing out on valuable insights that could have improved their operations.

Solution

That’s where IT Factor entered the picture. IT Factor understood NewGround Law’s needs and challenges and suggested developing a Management dashboard in Power BI. This dashboard visualizes all the information that management would like to see in actionable and understandable insights fully according to NewGround Law’s requirements.

Legalsense & Twinfield data

The process began with an analysis of data from Legalsense and Twinfield, with data from Legalsense leading the way. Legalsense’s modern API allowed IT Factor to export data from Legalsense in a secure and standardized way. In addition, IT Factor has a partnership with Legalsense and provides regular feedback on the API, which has helped make the process even smoother.

Results

We then developed an interactive dashboard that presents these insights in a user-friendly and visually appealing way and automatically refreshes each night. Thanks to the new dashboard, NewGround Law:

  • Have better visibility into the entire financial journey from time line to invoice payment.
  • Steer more efficiently by making faster and more accurate decisions based on real-time data: never again waiting for information until the end of the month after the claims cycle.
  • Identify potential challenges or trends early.
  • Formulate better strategies for customer acquisition and retention by analyzing their customer data.

Conclusion

In today’s increasingly competitive world, it is essential for offices to be at the forefront of data-driven decision-making. Thanks to the expertise of IT Factor and technical capabilities of Legalsense, NewGround Law was able to make this happen, and we are proud to have contributed to this small success.
